David Shaw, PhD Particle Physics, has worked extensively in Consulting, Market Analysis & Advisory businesses across a wide range of sectors including Technology, Healthcare, Energy and Financial Services. He has held a number of senior executive roles in public and private companies. David studied Physics at Balliol College, Oxford, and has a PhD in Particle Physics from UCL. He is a member of the Institute of Physics.

Line responsibility for Datamonitor’s 750 R&A staff based in 15 offices around the world inc. New York, London, Dubai, Hyderabad, Shanghai and Sydney.

Developed a very strong and capable senior R&A team across 7 verticals: Healthcare, Technology, Consumer Markets, Financial Services, Energy, Automotive, and Business Insights.

Led the turnaround and growth strategy for the Ovum division. Led the Collaborative Intelligence initiative. A unique offer in the Technology sector built on the post-acquisition integration of Datamonitor, Ovum and Butler Group teams.

Developed and implemented fact-based annual and quarterly planning processes.

Overhauled writing and editorial processes, research methods and staff appraisals.

Led the migration of 14 separate offers onto the Knowledge Center 2.0 platform.

Led the online Analytic Tools programme. 14 different decision support tools using digital delivery to embed the use of Datamonitor proprietary data within client organisations.
